About the event
In early 2026 Astronauts will return to the Moon for the first time since 1972. Learn about Arizona's role in training astronauts for the Apollo Program and now the Artemis Program. Astronauts train for Moonwalking in Flagstaff and Beringer Crater in Winslow. Part of the Orion spaceship were buitl in Goodyear and Chandler is processing the first components of the Lunar Gateway space station.
Learn how each program in NASA's history has led to exploration of the Moon and Beyond. The presentation includes real NASA hardware, including items that have flown in space, and high fidelity models of present and future spacecraft. Many hands on activities that can be implemented in the classroom.
