About the Event
Need a refresher on basic geologic concepts for your upcoming school year? Joe Drosendahl, geology instructor at Phoenix College will give us an overview of rocks, minerals, the Earth's interior, and plate tectonics.
Then, classroom teachers taking part in ASU’s Center for Bio-mediated and Bio-inspired Geotechnics Research Experience will take us through the geoscience lessons they have created and are using in their classrooms this year. You will gain access to the center's bank of standards based teacher created lesson plans for any grade level from Kindergarten through Community College! As well as hear about the connections between geology and chemistry!
Did you know that there are Earth and Space Science standards at every grade level? Find your resources at our Geoscience Workshop!
Meet with our presenters in person in the Physical Sciences Auditorium or on Zoom.
(Please note that the CDC currently recommends that even people who are fully vaccinated continue to wear a mask indoors in areas of high transmission (which currently includes Maricopa county). Please mask up and practice social distancing if you intend to participate in person at our event. We thank you all for your understanding, and appreciate your continued support while we navigate this situation with the safety and health of everyone, especially our still vulnerable students, in mind.
We can’t wait to see you Sep 11 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM MST at Phoenix College Physical Sciences Bldg C, Phoenix College.
