About the event

Inquiry-based education is meant to engage student’s curiosity and interest, so that students become self-motivated to learn.  Learning science becomes an exploration to find answers to the student’s own questions.  I am offering science teachers a short workshop to demonstrate Inquiry-based leaning.  We will explore the phenomenon of our vision.  Our eye is constructed like a camera with a lens that focuses an image on a surface (the retina) just like a camera lens focuses the image on the film.  Does our eye work like a camera?  We will do three short experiments on-line to explore this question and meet after each experiment to discuss our results. Then we will discuss what additional professional development teachers need to implement curricula like Open-Sci Ed into their classrooms.

Participants in this workshop will earn up to five hours professional development.
